On Monday 2 February 2026, Policy Watch SA will publish their first weekly roundup of recent developments in South Africa's public policy and legislative space. Entitled, 'Most Notably', our weekly will focus on news items that may either have been overlooked by the mainstream media or reported out of context.

'Most Notably' will also clarify any mixed messages coming from national government departments, their entities, and parliamentary structures, including the committees.

Drawing from official media statements, ministerial pronouncements and the Government Gazette, 'Most Notably will offer insightful commentary with links to relevant source documents – nevertheless steering clear of opinionated input. Readers will be provided with sufficient material and context to draw their own conclusions.

There's no point in reinventing the wheel by regurgitating information readily available on national government websites, in the eGazette and in parliamentary publications. Neither is it our intention to compete with the host of generalised and industry-specific newsletters regularly sharing thoughts about the latest developments on- and offline). Instead, Most Notably will report on a few carefully selected topics underpinned by a commitment to accurate, contextualised content.

With that in mind, among other things our 2 February 2026 edition will feature:

  • mixed messages on bundle rollovers

  • Parliament's Nieuwmeester Dome

  • a better deal for creatives (?), and

  • to B-BBEE or not ...
